– Thomas Sowell - Basic Economics—A Citizen’s Guide to the Economy - I just started reading this book to take a break from the crate of sci-fi books I’ve been reading lately.  Page 14 serves up this obvious and simplistic beauty.

ESPN Redesign Coming Soon →
I like the few screenshots shown here.  ESPN’s top level navigation has been terrible for a while. Looks like they plan on cutting the number of links in half.  The updated search engine is a must; I’ve never understood why they have such bad site search. Hopefully they’ll get rid of the auto-play homepage video.  If that gets the axe, I’ll be moving back to ESPN from CBS...

Strategy for drafting QB's
Nearly all fantasy football playoffs take place between week 14 and 16 of the NFL regular season.  Most leagues had their first round of the playoffs last week, and if you drafted Tony Romo, you probably lost.  Without trying to complicate the draft too much, it may be worth it to peak at your prospective QB’s week 14, 15, and 16 match ups.  If he is going from Pittsburgh to Buffalo in mid...

Going Pro
I received a great present today from my friend Amber Hopkins.  She works for Tor Books and sent me a box full of classic Sci-Fi novels.  I’ve always enjoyed Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, and was raised on Robert Heinlein’s junior novels, but I’ve never branched out from those authors. Thanks to Amber I’ll try and shed my amateur geek status, starting tonight...

DR. DOG ROCKED
feedback: Dr. Dog, a seemingly humble 5-piece band from Philadelphia, unleashed a sonorous roar on Webster Hall last night. Of all the bands I’ve seen play Webster Hall, Dr. Dog easily sounded the best. Their three-part harmonies filled the room and their duel-guitar work rivalled any band touring this planet. Fate is a well-produced, rootsy rock album. In a live setting, however, the songs...
