We're back...Why the downtime?
The site has been up and down since I changed my registration over from Yahoo! to Dreamhost.  Incase anyone else is doing the same, here are some tips/explanations of why I switched: Yahoo! is charging a ridiculous $34.99 to extend a regular .com domain for one year.  This is not a competitive rate and hardly any other registration sites charge anything close to this. I looked at all of the...

GOP lawmakers meet with Obama....spend the whole... →
This entire article is based on a few GOP Congressman’s Twitter messages while meeting Obama.  It’s especially cool that the journalist can quote a politician and link directly to the source.  Maybe this has been going on for a while, but this is the first article of it’s kind I have seen.

Best Outfield Arms in Baseball →
I love reading the statistical analysis by the Hardball Times.  In fact, I’ve tried mimicking their analysis several times just to learn more about it.  Sometimes it even works.  I’m surprised to see Hunter Pence at the top of the right fielders and Upton near the top in center field.  Neither have particularly good form.

New Theme
Thanks to Bijan for opening up his Tumblr theme under creative commons.  With the help of Napoelon and Annaliese, I made some tweaks here and there to come up with what you see now.  I’ve definitely traded off some of the minimalist features from the former blog for more functionality, but I don’t think it’s excessive.  One thing we added was the streampad plugin at the bottom of...

A well-lived life is not a tour of gas stations
bijan: Tim O’Reilly has a great post today clarifying his point about working on stuff that matters. This was my favorite part:. “I want to remind you that financial success is not the only goal or the only measure of success. It’s easy to get caught up in the heady buzz of making money. You should regard money as fuel for what you really want to do, not as a goal in and of itself. Money is...

Follow Lance Armstrong
Yesterday was probably the most fun day to be following Lance Armstrong on Twitter.  He’s got some great pictures up from his training in Hawaii.  This is my favorite.

Long Break
I think this recent break was the longest I’ve gone without posting since I started this blog.  I’ve found that when I travel, I neglect this blog in favor of twitter. I’m back now and hopefully will have some cool stuff up about D.C. soon.
