The Hype Machine iPhone app, “Hype Radio” is here!
Very excited to finally have this in the store. The app turns music blogs into mobile radio stations. It’s a new way to experience the music that bloggers are writing about - a lean-back experience that lets the new stuff come to you.
Funny stuff.

Gary Johnson 2012
I’m very excited that Gary Johnson has announced that he’s running for president in 2012. He’s running as a Republican (he is a 2 time Republican Governor from New Mexico), but that is a bit misleading. He isn’t a neo-con and he isn’t going to be the right wing Christian’s dog in the fight; he’s not your typical Republican candidate.
Instead of going into his whole bio (which is impressive), I want to make a point for why he can be a uniter on both the left and right by the issues.
He wants the government out of your life.
- Out of your life when it comes to marriage (pro-gay marriage)
- Out of your life when it comes to choices you make with your body (pro-legalization of marijuana, pro-choice)
- Out of your life when it comes to taxes (reduce both individual and corporate taxes…you can spend your money better than the federal government)
- Out of your life with government spending (when you’re taxed less, you don’t need the government as much)
- Out of Iraq and Afghanistan
He’s also for drastic spending cuts - 40% across the board, including welfare projects, defense spending, etc…
Gary Johnson is certainly an underdog. Much like Ron Paul, but without the gold bug stigma attached. I do think it is going to be a weak pool for the Republican primary, and I believe he can swing many liberals who care about gay marriage, drug policy, and defense spending that Obama has shown he won’t touch. Check out his site.
know about it: A system where everyone wins.
There are a lot of of reasons why I’m so excited to be building knowabout.it, but I think one of the biggest reasons is beacuse it’s truly a system where everyone wins.
That’s a pretty bold statement, so let me explain what I mean by that.
As I see it, we’ve really got three players invovled…
know about it: Managing Content Overload
Let’s forget for a minute that the average Know About It user has 500 links flowing through their social streams daily. Taking just one prolific source like TechCrunch serves as an interesting use case for Know About It. As of 7:45 PM EST on 4/12/11 TechCrunch had posted 38 articles in a 24 hour…
Repost from the Know About It blog.
Will Do - TV On The Radio - Nine Types Of Light
TV On The Radio and their new record, Nine Types Of Light, are the artist of the weekend on fredwilson.fm
Same.
KnowAbout.it is really starting to know about me, and I love that.
If you don’t know about KnowAbout.it yet, you sign up and start waking up with this amazing email in your inbox that tells you all the stuff you probably missed in your social stream from the day before.
This morning, they NAILED it, showing off a link my dear friend Aaron Cohen shared yesterday that his family famous book store was sold.
That was certainly news and a link that I missed, and rightly was at the top of my page.
Anyway, if you want an invite to KnowAbout.it, I believe as a user I can hand out a few. If you have my email address, email me and I’ll be pleased to get you in the beta.
Very excited to see Nate and others finding great stuff on Know About It. Nate mentions that all current alpha users now have invites to give out. Reach out to any of your friends on Know About It (including me!) and we’ll get you an account.
