Fantasy Baseball Trade

I traded:

Alexei Ramirez and Johan Santana.

I received:

Chase Utley.

I’m in last place in runs, and struggling in AVG and HR as well.  Chase Utley is a huge boost to my production in all of these categories over Alexei Ramirez, and I could accept losing Johan because of the emergence of JA Happ (5 consecutive quality starts) and the consistency of Clayton Kershaw.  I also have Verlander who serves the ace role.

I gave up more overall value in the trade than I received, but I did get the best player involved.  With Sizemore returning, I have two first round caliber hitters that have the ability to produce in all 5 hitting categories.

I don’t see anyone really capitalizing on a buy low/sell high strategy in this trade.  These players are still being valued based on their draft day value (since all are healthy and playing well at the moment).
