They know what they want
A while back we talked with Susan Wu at Charles Rivers about CHALQ. She was excited with the idea of Fantasy Sports, but was primarily focused on investments in companies that provided, traded, or included virtual goods.
That was months ago. I’m still learning how VC firms operate (I actually don’t talk to the VC much at all…that goes to Napoleon). I wonder if Susan was behind this investment. Was the pursuit of the virtual goods business part of a company wide plan or was it her pet project within the firm? When someone like Susan decides that she wants to fund a certain type of company in a certain field how can someone derail her to invest in another sector?
