I get daily updates on Yahoo! about all of my fantasy players and I also have RSS feeds set up to make sure I don’t miss any reports from any player on my roster or watch list. 

This morning has me regretting one of my picks 2 weeks before the season even starts:

Mar 9 Weeks was 0-for-3 on Sunday to drop his batting average to .130 this spring.

Recommendation: Weeks has one walk and ten strikeouts in 23 AB this spring training. He’s a trendy pick this year due to his hot finish to last season, but don’t forget that he comes with a lot of risk. He’ll still get his 20 SB or more, but his batting average will hurt your team.

So at least this can be fixed on the baseball field, unlike the two worst player updates I have ever seen:

In 2004 Jason Giambi was out with potentially fatal parasites. 

Also in 2005 Ugueth Urbina (one of my top closers) was arrested for allegedly lighting people on fire.
