I started a blog for many reasons and getting invited into beta testing rounds was not one of them. Maybe I shouldn’t be impressed when these sorts of things happen; after all Tumblr is supposed to increase my visibility to other people. However this was the first time I’ve seen such a direct benefit from my tumblelog.

I posted that I wanted to get into xobni on Friday. By Saturday morning I had an invite waiting for me. James Siminoff, the founder of SimulScribe, reblogged my post knowing that a member of the xobni team read his blog. Sure enough I had an invite waiting and a comment on my original post from Sean Ellis telling me the invite was ready.

Again, this happens all the time I am sure, but it is cool to see it work for me. Thanks James and Sean. I’ll be downloading xobni when I go into work tomorrow and hopefully it will help me manage the 80+ emails I get a day.
