The Supreme Court has a fantasy baseball league

Honestly, it does.  And apparently the fact that several of the members of the court participate in a fantasy baseball league caused those members to remove themselves from hearing the case.  Crazy.

I believe fantasy baseball creates and retains fans for the MLB.  I have been in a fairly serious and competitive league for about 5 years now and know that previous to playing fantasy, at least 3 members hardly ever attended or watched games on TV.  They certainly didn’t consider themselves hardcore fans.  Now they are glued to the TV at night watching their fantasy players, going to games on the weekends when their players are in town, and spending tens of hours online researching, managing, and trading MLB players.

Fantasy Sports are big business and the MLB wants it’s cut. But this is beginning to look an awful lot like MLB taking a Music Label approach to a business they should accept and make partnerships with.
