The Big 12 has 3 teams in the top 5 of the current AP rankings and in the ESPN Power Rankings. The SEC has 2. The Big 12 also has 4 teams in the top 10 to the SEC’s 3. Both have 6 in the top 25.

I’m not sure if the Big 12 has replaced the SEC as the top conference in college football just yet, but the SEC is no longer the clear top conference. At the very least, I hope this puts an end to the “SEC teams just beat up on eachother” excuse that’s been used to death.
