I received a great present today from my friend Amber Hopkins.  She works for Tor Books and sent me a box full of classic Sci-Fi novels.  I’ve always enjoyed Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Kurt Vonnegut, and was raised on Robert Heinlein’s junior novels, but I’ve never branched out from those authors.

Thanks to Amber I’ll try and shed my amateur geek status, starting tonight with John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War.
